Browser Settings #

Depending on the browser you are using, there may be some configuration required for the following aspects of ~.UcClient.~ to work correctly:

  • Cookie access, ~.UcClient.~ requires access to store settings and access tokens in a cookie
  • Notifications, when in softphone mode, ~.UcClient.~ can provide incoming call notifications through the browser
  • Microphone access, when in Softphone mode, ~.UcClient.~ requires access to microphone and speaker devices

Settings URLs for each browser: #

To enable or disable any of the required permissions below, navigate to the browser settings either through the menu or by using one of the following URLs:

  • Edge: edge://settings
  • Chrome: chrome://settings/content
  • Firefox: about:preferences#privacy

~.UcClient.~ requires 3rd Party Cookie access in order to save it's settings and access token information. Ensure that 3rd party cookie access has been enabled for the URL below.

Edge

Select the 'Cookie and site permissions' section, then 'Manage and delete cookies and site data'. To use ~.UcClient.~, either disable the 'Block third-party cookies' option or add the URL to the 'Allow' section.

Chrome

Select the 'Cookie and site data' section. To use ~.UcClient.~, either enable the 'Allow all cookies' option or add the URL to the 'sites that can always use cookies' section:

Firefox

Browse to the 'Cookie and Site Data' section and click on 'Manage Exceptions'. Enter the URL then press the 'Allow' button.

Notifications #

Notifications are required when running the client in softphone mode to alert on incoming calls when the browser is minimised or not on the CRM tab.

Edge

To enable access, open the 'Notification' option under 'All Permissions'. Check that 'Ask before sending' is enabled and ensure that the CRM URL is not listed in the 'Block' section.

Chrome

To enable access, open the 'Notifications' option under 'Site settings'. Check that 'Sites can ask to send notifications' is enabled and ensure that the CRM URL is not listed in the 'Not allowed to send notifications' section.

Firefox

Browse to the 'Permissions' section, then click on 'Settings' for the 'Notifications' option. Check that 'Block new requests asking to allow notifications' is disabled and click on 'Save Changes'. #

Once these settings have been checked, go back to the CRM web page and press F5 to refresh the ~.UcClient.~ plugin. It should now request permission to send notifications if it doesn't already have it.

Microphone Access #

Microphone access is required when running the client in softphone mode.

Edge

To enable access, open the 'Microphone' option under 'All Permissions'. Check that 'Ask before accessing' is enabled and ensure that the CRM URL is not listed in the 'Block' section.

Chrome

To enable access, open the 'Microphone' option under 'Site settings'. Check that 'Sites can ask to use your microphone' is enabled and ensure that the CRM URL is not listed in the 'Not allowed to use your microphone' section.

Firefox

Browse to the 'Permissions' section, then click on 'Settings' for the 'Microphone' option. Check that 'Block new requests asking to access your microphone' is disabled and click on 'Save Changes'. #

Once these settings have been checked, go back to the CRM web page and press F5 to refresh the ~.UcClient.~ plugin. It should now request microphone permission if it doesn't already have it.
